Baltimore, MD –  Love Your Block Baltimore, a community-based mini grant initiative made possible through a partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs, Living Classrooms Foundation, and the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation, begins accepting applicants in its second cycle of mini-grant awards. The mini-grant program is designed to provide financial support to Baltimoreans residing within Love Your Block districts that wish to host resident-led area projects which work toward sustaining a healthier community. “Our goal is to aid residents in creating and leading impactful projects that they always wanted to see executed in their communities,” said Cheryl Rivere, Managing Director of Workforce Development at Living Classrooms Foundation, a Love Your Block partner. “Love Your Block gives residents a platform to be a changemaker in their neighborhood–because every day, people have ideas and the mindset to do extraordinary things. We are here to be a catalyst and offer assistance.” 

In partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs and Living Classrooms Foundation, Love Your Block is a grant program supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies that funds neighborhood revitalization projects led by residents in cities nationwide. Honing in on a mission to prioritize neighborhood cleaning, greening, and community safety, the program enables residents to deliver projects that improve neighborhood vitality. 

Since its founding in 2009, Love Your Block has supported a total of 50 U.S. cities. Baltimore has become one of the most recent cities to join Love Your Block, along with 15 other cities, for the 2024-2026 cycle. 

Baltimore’s 2025 Cycle 1 mini-grant program awarded residents in the Belair Edison neighborhood with micro-grant funding to design, develop, and deliver community projects of their choosing. Recipients executed the projects that prioritized neighborhood cleaning and greening. As Love Your Block now expands its work into Broadway East and C.A.R.E. during the program's final year, we are seeking new applicants equipped with innovative and sustainable ideas.
